욤은 한국, 서울에서 태어나고 자랐다.
한국에서 3년, 토쿄에서 6년. 그래픽디자이너로서의 9년간의 회사생활을 마치고 풀타임 아티스트가 되기위해 2010년 가을, 서울로 돌아왔다. 서울과 토쿄에서의 생활에서 느낀 대도시 삶의 다양한 욕망과 반성들을 특유의 위트있는 페인팅으로 펼쳐보이고 있다.

오늘날 이 도시의 일상, 그 자체가 얼마나 환상적인가?
지구 반대편의 사람들과 가볍게 대화할 수 있고, 원하는 음악, 영상도 언제든지(심지어 걸어다니면서도) 즐길 수 있는 시대이다. 그런 극적인 편의와 자극들 속에 우리의 지각에서 잊혀져가는 것들이 있다. 저녁테이블 위의 먹음직스러운 햄은 어느 나라의 돼지를 죽임으로써 얻어진 것인지? 내가 투자하는 금융상품의 실적은 어느 제3국가의 기업을 도산시켜 얻은 것인지? 원인과 결과의 인과관계가 정확히 눈에 보이지 않는 복잡하게 얽힌 도시라는 일상에서, 우리는 모르는 사이에 세상에 많은 가학을 저지르고 있다. 그런 와중에 이 도시는 우리에게 또 다시 반짝거리는 유혹을 선사하며, 잠시도 반성할 틈을 주지를 않는다.
나의 그림들은 하나의 동화책이다.
나는 나만의 도시 동화를 통해서, 도시의 삶을 표현하고/ 환상들을 즐기며/ 동시에 반성하고자 한다.
