초대를 받고 너무 신이 난 나는 응접실까지만 와서 함께 있어주길 바랬던 당사자의 마음과 달리, 그녀의 베란다, 침실, 옷장의 밑바닥까지 열어보면서 신나게 놀아버리곤 했다.
그리고는 이내 호기심이 떨어진 아이의 표정을 하곤, 사탕을 달라고 졸라버렸어."
- 그 뒤로도 반복되곤 하는 이 추억은 1996년 가을이 시작이었다.
